#Uganda Decides Religious Leaders, Blocked From Dr. Besigye, Instead Pray With Police
A team of Ugandan clergy that was led by Bishop Ochola, and included Father Masembe, Imam Kasozi, Sheik Katuramu, Bishop Zac Niringiye, and Rev. Dr. Omona have just visited the residence of Dr. Kizza Besigye the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate and presumptive winner of the Feb. 18 elections to offer prayer services for Dr. Besigye and his family..
The police informed the religious delegation that they were under "strict orders from above" not to allow them inside Dr. Besigye's home; raising questions about who can really be "above" above.
The religious delegation offered to pray for the police who accepted the gesture. "We prayed with them and for them," says one of the religious leaders. "For Dr. Besigye and family, for our country at this difficult time, that justice may prevail. We left after that."
