Entertainment News - "I do not know Anne Waiguru"
Political Analyst, Prof Mutahi Ngunyi (pictured) says controversial hairdresser Josephine Kabura, whom he has threatened to sue for defamation, is either 'a genius or made by a genius.'
Prof Ngunyi told The Nairobian on phone that he gave counsel to CS Waiguru, but which was ignored. "I gave counsel, but it was not heeded. I have emails on the same.She never heeded to counsel. We were played," said Ngunyi.
In comments made on his Twitter account, Prof Ngunyi also denied personally knowing Waiguru. He also said he had never met Kabura, but would be interested in meeting her as a scientist because she would make a 'fascinating specimen of study'.
"I cannot defend former CS Anne Waiguru anymore. Besides, I do not know her. Our relationship was 'clinical' and my strict brief at NYS was to restructure, not to fight corruption cartels," reads the statement on his Twitter handle. Lawyer Donald Kipkorir wrote on his Facebook account:
"Prof. Mutahi Ngunyi, says of Ms. Anne Waiguru, 'I do not know that woman.' Yet, he was her consultant for nearly three years and (was) paid millions of public money for it. Ms Anne Waiguru says of Josephine Irungu — 'I haven't met that woman'... Yet, Josephine was Ms. Waiguru's hairdresser for many years and later turned business partner/proxy."
When The Nairobian contacted former Cabinet Secretary's estranged husband, the born again top-notch lawyer Tony Waiguru refused to be drawn into the NYS saga. "What type of question is that? Look. Listen, I don't want to talk to the media or anybody," he said politely. It is said that Tony runs a church and used to play guitar for the worship team in his younger days if not leading the worship team.
