{UAH} GOVERNMENT TO SUBSIDISE AGRICULTURAL INSURANCE

government has embarked on 5b to subsidise agricultural insurance for farmers in the next financial year, and this was revealed by officials from ministry of finance, this will be done under a public-private partnership. The agricultural sector we well know that it is one of the most thriving in the country, therefore to cover most of the risks farmers face like bad weather, government has proposed a premium subsidy to help with the risks.

This agricultural insurance will increase investment in agriculture by increasing famers' access to affordable loans, inputs, compensation for losses due to bad weather effects and increased access to credit. Another good thing about this is that farmers with less than 30 acres of land will get a premium subsidy of 50% while 30% subsidy will go to large scale farmers with over 30 acres. There is even a livestock insurance for poultry farmers with 500 to 2,000 birds will get a 50% subsidy, while 30% subsidy will be paid out to those with more than 2,000 birds.
