{UAH} TO THOSE IN THE GREATER AUTHORITY OF TORONTO
Friends
As we are waking up, let us recognize that there are a couple of major invents taking place in the city. As Toronto builds its self to become the master of sports in North America, the entire NBA organization is in the city for functions that started yesterday through the week end. We are holding The NBA all-star game from 12th February to 14th February. There is simply no hotel room in the city for the entire NBA flew in from Thursday, and so did the spectators. I have just read a report that hotels from as out as Pickering are sold out, so if you have any invent this week end requiring a hotel use, do yourself a favor and cancel it. There are so many vehicles in the city that you might need to use public transport, I understand Toronto transit and GO trains are going to run on rush hour basis to move people faster. The biggest problem we have started to get down town is people crossing from hotels to hotels to meet the NBA stars , so keep that in mind as you go by. This same week end we have a family day come Monday and a Valentine’s day. So it is a well fully packed week end. And lastly it is brutally cold that including the wind factor we can be in minus high thirties, both today and tomorrow. Come Monday we are pushing a minus one. Are The Gods mad to NBA? Just asking !!!!!!
And lastly in this pushing Toronto to become the master of sports in North America did you know that we did very well last year with tourism? When you consider only overnight tourists that came to this city in 2014/5, we got 14.3 million tourists. The report said that Toronto hotels have registered 2015 as the best year on record thanks to sports, thanks to new installations like Ripley, functions like Caribbana week end and The massive international Gay parade we got. Let me go in the numbers. Of those 14.3 million tourists, 2.3 million were Americans, but we saw the highest ever visitation numbers from China, UK, India, Japan and Germany. The national hotel occupancy in 2015 raised to 71.4%. Now to put these numbers into perspective, the year before we got 600,000 overnight tourists. 2016 looks very promising and NBA all-star game looks a pretty nit start.
Enjoy the week-end with all yours truly.
