{UAH} UGANDA'S MAGUFURI IS EXPECTED IN 2021
The second presidential debate is still the talk of the country. It
would have worked better if we had a national language.
However some of our debaters demonstrated that they were more of
politicians that statesmen or stateswomen. Some even decided to become
populists if it was the way that could guarantee them victory to seize
state power.
Rt. Hon. Amama Mbabazi even said that street kids in Kampala would be
revolutionaries of tomorrow. These are criminals like Kiface Group,
and what did the Rt. Hon. mean? These Kifeesi people terrorize
wanainchi, and police is to blame for not wiping them out.
The Rt. Hon. also compared him self to JPAM Magufuri, new President of
the United Republic of Tanzania.
Before Tanzania;s general elections last Ocotber, Mbabazi used to
compare him self to Lowasa, an aooposition TDA candidate, who was a
former Prime Minister was implicated in various corruption scandals.
Even Eng. Winnie Byanyima wondered how Tanzanians could jump on a band
wagon of a former Prime Minister who was implicated in corruption
scandals and people though that she meant Amama Mbabazi.
However after Lowasa was defeated siply because organs of CCM endorsed
Pombe Magufuri, who was with a clean record, Mbabazi now calls himself
JPAM, the original initials for Magufuri. Yet Mbabazi is an
independent candidate and Magufuri was the party candidate of the
ruling party.
l think a Magufuri of Uganda will emerge in post 2016 era, most
probably from the young generation.
Then when it came to plundering DR Congo, Amama although defended what
was called illegal invasion of DRC as Besigye said it, he however said
Uganda lost the case in World Court of Justice because of plunder.
Yes, there was some plunder by some individuals in UPDF but generally
mid western Uganda, which was threatened from DRC was secured and that
was more important than zeroing on a few elements that looted.
Even Dr. Kizza Besigye who was a member of High Command, Army Council
etc..., out of collective responsibility, should not have exposed
dirty linen.
But since Uganda has its own Porter and Sebutinde Commissions of
inquiry, l think those implicated were charged. l remember the late
Maj. James Kaziini was in court martial over such things, among
others.
On health services, the solution shall be health for all which has not
yet been attainable even among developing countries like UK. To book a
doctor in a public hospital in UK is still problematic but as we grow
and prosper, a health insurance scheme shall do.
But all in all, the presidential debate this time was better than last
time and it will improve more next time, insha Allah.
