Even under Idi Amin (RIP) oil was known to exist. This information I got from E:Oryema (RIP) in 1975!!!!!!
In a dear friend of mine who went to in Uganda in 1980 came with a Ugandan newspaper with an article on oil in Uganda. I still have that newspaper with me.
