{UAH} WILLIAM STREET TITLE BACK

Brothers and sisters, we have held a second unity Juma prayer at Old
Kampala national mosque this afternoon and after the prayer we have
been visited by Preasident yoweri Museveni.
AMong others, he has brought a land tittle of Masjid noor or Wililam
Street in names of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, which he has handled
to Mufti Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje, but later returned it to Attorney
General to be under custody of the bank untl Muslim wrangle over it is
settled.
He haslo also said that he had met Kibuli Mulims in Nakifuma, and it
seems, putting the title under the custody of bank was agreeable.
President Museveni has promised to pay for maintenance of Old Kampala
national mosque, erection of a university block, and completion of a
shopping mall to work as a perimeter wall.
On the fate of Muslim leaders, on murder charges under remand at
Luzira Prisn, the President promised to make a follow up and inform
the Mufti.
Among those present were Third Deputy Premier ALi Kirunda Kvejinja,
NRM Vice Chairperson in charge of Buganda Region who is also UMSC Vice
Chairperson Al Haj Lt. Abdul Rahman Nadduli, Kampala Central MP
Mhammad Nsereko, Uganda's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Rashid
Ssemuddu.
The Master of Ceremony was Sheikh Anasi Sessimba assisted by Al Haji
Abdul Nsereko.
The prayer for peace was led by Sheikh Yahaya Kaknugulu, Director of
Shariah. He called for peacem vefore, during and after elections.
Muslims of all walks of lifer and of all sects and factions were present.
Egyptian and Libyan ambassadors and some other Arab and Muslim
diplomats were also present.
The Mufti had said, that he and UMSC administration was committed to
Kabwegyere Report but were not agreeing with those who wanted to use
it as an excuse.
He however, said, that, UMSC administration did not want to engage him
in those wrangles at the time of national elections.
He said tat the presence of Amiir Ummah Sheikh Yahaya Mwanje
representing Sheikh Muhammad Yunus Kamoga, AMir Daura Sheikh Sulaiman
Kakeeto and Amiir SPIDIQA Sheikh Sentongo was a sign that 85 percent
of Muslim were united.
Sheikh Sessimba also said that in Kampala there are over 200 mosques
and over 190 mosques are under UMSC and only about 10 mosques are not.
In my view view, after general elections, the Muslims of all sects and
all factions should ensure that the Kabwegyere Report where Gvernment
and Kibuli and Old Kampala factions were represented, is
operationalized.
