It is a three-part paper,
a) Evidence that it is an endangered language,
b) Should indigenous languages exist at all
c) what steeps can be taken to redeem it from extinction
Please read through and comment, and or add more information. The final version is to be sent to the Ministry of Education as a way of alerting them as to what is happening to Runyoro/Rutooro, and possibly to other indigenous languages.
Please, bear in mind that for the last 30 or so years,no books in Runyoro/Rutooro have been written. This excludes the grammer, dictionary and orthography books
Also bear in mind that the spoken Runyoro/Rutooro is under attack from many corners where today Banyoro and Batooro.speak deformed Runyoro/Rutooro.
Please kindly make comments and proposals and send back to me for inclusion in the final version which will be sent to NCDC, and hence the Ministry of Education.
Regards,
Henry Ford Miirima
Acting Secretary
Runyoro/Rutooro Language Board
also Press Secretary of the Omukam of Bunyoro-Kitaraa

Dear All
The attached paper is what I personally feel about Runyoro/Rutooro. I have gathered background material, including a warning from UNESCO that two indigenous languages die every week, showing Runyoro/Rutooro is actually an endangered language.a) Evidence that it is an endangered language,
b) Should indigenous languages exist at all
