{UAH} Netherlands
Dear to all our Ugandan brothers and sisters resident in the Netherlands,
I salute you all in the spirit of "one Uganda one people "despite all our diversities we are all in all a country of very peaceful and welcoming society. In the context of unity and love, I would like to bring to your attention that as much we are all equally comfortable with living in the Netherlands ,it's important that we share with our relatives back home their dissatisfaction with the outcome of the elections , we cannot simply sit and lament about it and do nothing.
As we are already informed the events back home are taking a downward trend, to be precise the situation back home is about to become politically volatile; the gross human rights abuse against presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye and members of the opposition is not something we should take lightly.
Dr. Kizza Besigye has since been unlawfully detained in his house with no access to media or internet service. As a leader he is being denied the opportunity to address the press, to move free without hindrance and to freely associate with his supporters immediately after the election as a way to reassure concerned citizen about the state of affairs in Uganda following the Elections. The whole country is held hostage by an increased military presence, the state of fear which is symbolized the massive deployment of tanks, helicopters and armed security personnel throughout the country. To compound to this we have already witnessed the massacres of innocent people in Kasese by the state security forces.
Therefore, I call upon all of to turn up for the massive demonstration we are going to hold in The Hague city on the 24th March 2016. We are converging on the central station of Den Hague at 2 pm.
Activities for the day will include:
• Carrying placards, banners, flags etc.
• Engaging the public through a public address system.
• Playing the drums for attention.
• Distributing leaflets to the people on the streets.
• Talking to the Dutch press.
• Signing the hard copy petition.
• Delivering the petition to the ministry of foreign affairs.
We have already held a preliminary meeting for the preparation of the demonstration, it's very important for us to be united in condemning what is happening back at home.
Please note on the day of the demonstration, we encourage you to bring your own placards, flags, cameras and anything you wish to display on that day.
For further information, you can reach me on 0687150054, Steve Mwase, Ssalongo Kalungi and Mukama Nkutu.
Thanks yours Moses Atocon.
