{UAH} NRM's KI-FACE jobless group

Gerald Tumusiime, a member of the KI-FACE jobless group in Katwe, Makindye division, alleges that he was on February 16 contacted by an NRM mobiliser called Tindyebwa. He said Tindyebwa asked him to protect Museveni's votes at polling stations. Tumusiime alleges that acting on Tindyebwa's orders, he and fellow KI-FACE members beat up people who seemed not to support Museveni's candidature.

"We were told that nothing would happen to any member of our group since NRM was in power and that we would be paid for our services. We thoroughly beat up opposition supporters in Lugala, Nakulabye, Kawaala and Nansana in full view of the police but we were untouchable," Tumusiime alleges.

He, however, laments in the same affidavit sworn on March 9 that his KI-FACE group has not been paid yet for clobbering people. Tumusiime also alleges that on the day the FDC presidential candidate Dr Kiiza Besigye was scheduled to hold rallies in Kampala, an intelligence officer, he only identifies as Ms Tibita, contacted him and tasked his group to beat up the colonel's supporters.

"We regret the torture and intimidation we meted upon innocent Ugandans. I willingly offered to volunteer the information stated herein and hereby commit to stand by statements herein at all times and in all circumstances," Tumusiime adds.
