His defenders will say this is a case of an overzealous aide protecting his boss, but what Corey Lewandoski did here was what the charge says: battering a reporter.

Trump has repeatedly vowed to foot the legal bill for any of his supporters charged with assaulting "hecklers" or anybody whose proximity to Trump is suspect. The question that looms large now is: Will America really elect this thuggish loudmouth as president?
