{UAH} Tubonga Nawe boycott

Normally, I avoid political discussions. When I write about politics, I care to mention that the political preferences of other people are none of my business.  That said, I can understand why someone would recommend that people in the dispora should boycott all the entertainers that participated in "Tubonga Nawe".  The argument is that the lyrics of that song are very clear.  They praise the status quo in Uganda.  It follows that if someone in the dispora does not agree with the rosy picture promoted by those entertainers, that someone in the diaspora should be free to boycott the entertainers.
In my view, the entertainers have a right to praise the NRM's performance and those opposed to the NRM have a right to boycott the performances of entertainers promoting a regime they disapprove of.
Here in the US, major organisations like Gwanga Mujje, UNAA and UNAAcauses are planning competing conventions. Ugandans in the US and Canada that did not agree with the rosy picture painted by the "Tubonga Nawe" entertainers would be within their rights to urge the leaders of Gwanga Mujje, UNAA and UNAAcauses not to invite Tubonga Nawe entertainers.  If the invitations have already gone out, now would be the time to cancel the invitations.
Uganda based entertainers normally come several weeks before the conventions and stay for several weeks after the conventions...they use that extra time to perform in cities around the US.  I believe it would be reasonable to extend the boycott to those other venues.
thanks
