Uganda is angry,frustrated- By Our Reporter

Civil society activist Leonard Okello describes President Yoweri Museveni as the "bad winner" who locks up opponents‪.

Okello urged Museveni's government to first be responsive to what the citizens are saying.

"The country is angry, frustrated and fearful. At all levels; civilians, officers, vendors… even those who won the elections," he said while appearing on NBS TV on Monday.

He said one of Uganda's problems is that some individuals remain bigger than institutions including political parties.

"Justice in Africa is not about who wins but about restoring bonds. We need to dialogue as a country."

Okello said if the dialogue is limited to two people, it will be a problem because then, only their interests will feature, not Uganda's.

"For dialogue to thrive, we must be ready to listen and have a degree of truth."

The activist said the country will always be going forward even when it is limping.
