{UAH} CORDOBA'S MOSQUE-CATHEDRAL

Please tune in to this very moving documentary on the Cordoba Mosque-Cathedral, and the very many doctrinal and political issues it raises. This religious edifice was originally a cathedral, was forcefully turned into a Mosque following Muslim conguest of Spain, and then became a Cathedral once again when the Ottoman empire was defeated and Islam was forced to withdraw from Spain. It the 1980's it seems the Vatican allowed part of it to be used as a Mosque on Fridays and Synagogue on Saturdays. It looks now, it has become purely  a Cathedral after a terrorist incident when some Islamic zealots stabbed security guards who tried to prevent them from praying inside the cathedral. Today, the catholic Church will not agree to any shared use of the site again, so muslims can visit it only as tourists as no prayers are permitted.  I have found it very interesting because next Saturday I am going to be participating in a debate on ISLAMIC TERRORISM AND FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE to be held at the London School of Economics.
