Uganda MPs illegal and unacceptable behaviour

For once, I agree with Dr Besigye and many others on MPs and tax. MPs should not set the rules that exempt them from contributing to the constituents who elected them and the country coffers in general. No one asked them to run for office by force. Finding or scheming ways of tax avoidance when everyone in the country and diaspora community pay their share is not only illegal but morally wrong and unacceptable behaviour. The figure given is over UGsh 40 Billion shillings which is a significant amount of money that can help in various developmental projects. If MPs feel that they should not pay tax, then the job of a legislator is not for them. They should leave Parliament and find other jobs where avoiding tax is permitted.

I hope the President will not sign this bill that promotes unfairness, inequality and greed.
