How do lawyers handle their accounts and finances in Uganda these days? I think Kanyeihamba was being very naive to expect his partners to pass on all company earnings to himself. I get the feeling his partners were really just independent contractors and not partners in the company law sense. Therefore all they would have to pay him is a fee, pretty much the way barristers oerate in the UK, where every member of a firm is on his own, so long as he pays a firm to the head of the firm

Supreme court Judge, Justice George W. Kanyeihamba  is
crying foul telling whoever cares to know about how his
partners took
advantage of his sickness and robbed him of shs328,000,000=
(shillings
Three Hundred and Twenty eight Million).

According to the complaint lodged at Criminal
Investigations
Directorate in Kibuli through Gen Kale Kayihura, Kanyeihamba
reveals
that he is the founding senior counsel of GWKanyeihanba and
Co.
Advocates and Consultants and Chairman Board of
directors  and majority shareholder of SOT enterprises
limited.
He alleges that five years ago, one Orono applied and
Kanyeihamba
gave him a job as the company legal associate. He adds that
during that
period , he worked well and faithfully for the firm that
Kayeihamba
trusted him. That he later introduced Edward obbo to
Kanyeihamba as the
former University colleague and the firm employed him as the
legal
assistant.
"In March 2015, I was hospitalized in Europe. I
informed both Orono
and Obbo that my medical treatment would take some time and
we agreed
that Orono and Obbo would stay in charge of my law firm and
be
accountable for its work and finances while I stay away as
they
enthusiastically agreed".
Narrated Kayeihamba He adds that the two both persuaded
him that SOT
enterprises limited of which he is the director and chairman
and Orono
is the minority shareholder, Director and secretary of the
BOD needed to
  be managed while the rtd judge was away.
He alleges that they entered into management contract 
with him so that they manage it for their
own benefit on condition that they both jointly pay shs5M
(Shillings
Five Million) into the bank account of SOT Enterprises 
from their own
resources with effect from 01/07/2015.
Kanyeihamba stresses that both Mr Obbo and Orono borrowed
from him
shs10,000,000= (Ten Million) as a personal loan to be repaid
within a
year from the execution of the management contract as the
enclosed copy
of the  loan agreement signed by both shows. "Later I
realized to my
dismay that they had committed a fraud with no intentions of
repaying it
  back to me.  I also discovered that Orono had been
stealing money
received from my clients and expropriating the law firm's
payments of
instructions and counsel's fees for his personal
benefits". "The audit
of my firm has disclosed that shs125,000,000= (Shillings one
hundred and
  Twentyfive million) Onono received on behalf of the company
is
unaccounted for and he is presumed to have embezzled it"
Kanyeihamba
complained in his document to Police.
That when Kanyeihamba inquired from Crane Bank where the
account of
SOT enterprises is, he was shocked to learn that no payment
in
connection with the binding contract Orono and Obbo had
signed had been
made at all. Kanyeihamba stresses that their undertaking was
fraudulent
and that up-todate they have stolen from SOT enterprises the
sum of
shs60,000,000= (Sixty million). Kanyeihamba adds that Orono
forged his
signature from time to time and it has been found that
during his absence, he withdrew shs80,000,000= (Eighty
million) from
the account instead of paying in the five million every
month.
Kanyeihamba added that Orono removed some of  his
clients files from
office and dissapeared with them after receiving part fees
to the tune
of shs25,000,000= (Twenty five million) under the pretence
that he was
still employed by GW Kanyeihamba &co Advocates. That he
also
disappeared with the balance of the money he had received
from one of
the client to the tune of shs95,000,000= (ninety five
million) without
accounting for it.
Kanyeihamba and other concerned citizens have reported
serious
criminal offences to diverse Police stations  without
investigations,
