{UAH} ARE U IN PAIN? DO U FEEL ANY PAIN ANYWHERE ON YOUR BODY?

For those who do gym , you have probably been told by your trainers that muscle soreness signaled the need for increased blood flow to that area, which is how the body heals. So taking Advil or any other anti-inflammatory to "not feel sore" causes blood not to flow to that area (what an inflammation is) and thus it slows or prevents healing.

I thought about all the ways we use to "not feel pain"-- food, drugs, work, other people, emotional suppression-- our anti-inflammatories that reduce pain temporary, but also slow healing because the process is stunted. We strive to "feel good" vs actually "being healthy". The absence of pain is not the same as health--sometimes pain is proof of health. Healing and real strength is about getting torn up and working through the pain to grow stronger. This requires discomfort, patience and perseverance. I'm not judging all who can't bear the pain. Just saying don't confuse numbing the pain with progress. We break to heal. SubhannAllah. Again and again.

If you avoid the pain by stuffing it down with all these things that numb, it will eventually come back up and you'll have to face it. I often recommend setting aside time to immerse yourself in it for just a little while. Have an "exit strategy," you will use to stop and give yourself a break. For example, take an hour to sit with Photo album or video of someone you've lost. Cry, feel whatever feelings emerge. At the end of the video or the hour, go for a walk with a friend or do an activity that brings you back into light and connection. Sometimes smaller doses can be easier to face and get through without sinking below the surface and drowning in it.

There is a rare neurological disease where the person cannot feel pain. This might seem ideal to many people! Because, they cannot feel pain, they end up dying out of failure to realize how much to push their bodies. Our bodies whispers many messages to us, the best of which come in the form of pain. When we continuously fail to listen, it starts to shout in the form of diseases. In severe cases, our brain gives up on us and stops sending warning signs, and just surprises us with irreversible diseases.
