''A friend's view of the Latest trials of Dr. Besigye and the implications
The Besigye I have known, is never threatened by this kind of threat. Instead it's this kind of action that galvanises our strength.
You are very lucky that you are born in this generation that will witness a transition. Museven can never win this war!! He is basically fighting the reality. The coming weeks shall not be in his favour but in favour of all those seeking change.
I fully associate myself with his swearing in and admire the courage of Besigye. Besigye is the bravest Ugandan ever. When I saw the swearing in my respect for the man increased at the same time it was the last nail in the legacy of Museveni.
Besigye as a doctor has done a surgical analysis of our history and this was the best option. Museveni is used to wars in the bushes he is now going to fight the war with the people he seeks to protect. He may think he is incarcerating Besigye, but he is imprisoning many ugandans that associate with the actions of the retired Colonel.
The way this war is fought shall define our coming years and shall at the same time define how this regime ends.
Besigye is not naive, he was fully aware of the implications. He chose a difficult path but still all forces are on his side.
The greatest strength of Besigye over the years is courage to expose the inner emptiness of the regime. Expose the greatest weakness of Museveni. Museveni is nothing but an empty uncivilised goon fighting empty wars for his own gratification and greed. He is using people to fulfill he unquenched thirst for power. And at every stage he uses and dumps people like condoms whoever comes in his way he either eliminates or isolates to achieve his objective.
But his tricks are slowly coming to the light courtesy of Besigye. Much as they claim they have contained him but Besigye has always moved ahead of the regime because he has known it's greatest weakness. Imagine if he had not contested in the election which was the greatest dream of the regime!!
What Besigye is doing is to expose this bogus regime both at election levels and in governance levels. He has now come full force to expose how far the regime can go in human rights issues if the very seat of the regime is threatened. We wait and see. How things unfold in a few days to come. Congratulations president Besigye a true hero of our time.
We are in a delicate stage which is not for cowards. Luwero juggles have started but for us it will be on the streets of our country. We need funds and commitments. Prayers and courage. Which eve way you can contribute as long as it's to support our cause.''
