Dear Donald Trump supporters,
You can ban my fellow Muslims living in the US if you feel like you have no need for them anymore.
Perhaps you can ban Professor Reza Aslan who converted to Islam before he attended Harvard University. You might also want to ban his Muslim lawyer though if he appeals to the court.
You can also ban his lawyer's father, who owns the local food place you go to for a Saturday night meal.
Or you can start from religious leaders and ban Hamza Yusuf, the West's most influential Muslim scholar, who used to be called Mark Hanson before he converted to Islam.
You might also want to ban any potential Muslim lecturer who taught Hamza Yusuf nursing at Imperial Valley College, since his aim was to support doctors who save American lives for a living, many of whom work 15 hour shifts for little pay compared to other professions.
You might know some of them doctors if you've ever had an operation, as you would have noticed that many of them have a thick accent dissimilar to yours, since they are of Middle Eastern origin.
You also might want to ban the 3500 Muslims serving in your armed forces.
Muhammad Ali would have to be banned too, but that is of course because he is Muslim, not because your leader Donald Trump has been seen kissing and hugging him in various photos. Or of course, Mike Tyson, another Muslim who he happily posed with, smiling in the photos.
In fact, why don't you just ban the total 3.3 million Muslims living in the United States? A huge problem you might face though is that 60% of those converted to Islam, and were American long before they ever became Muslim.
I recommend that you do not be afraid of the many Muslim teachers, professors, lecturers, nurses, doctors, businessman etc. My recommendation is that you get to know them, as statistics show that many of you do not. Surveys tell me that most people who support Trump's wish to ban Muslims rely on the 'media' version of Islam, which is not really Islam at all. Studies tell me many of you have not had enough conversations with Muslims, and you assume our beliefs without asking us. I do not hate you because I know the power of the media, but I do ask you to try to mix more.
Try to make a bit of an effort in getting to know us, and see that our religion is peaceful. Maybe one day you may even realize the real reason why you are being told to hate us but that is for another time.
For the mean time though, get to know everyone else too. I hear you aren't fond of black people? Get to know them. Perhaps you don't like Jews? Get to know them. I tell people who fantasize about joining ISIS that they should get to know Americans in the hope that many of them will differentiate between the American government and the American people. Perhaps they will no longer want to bomb American people in return for the American government bombing Muslims. Meet people. Greet people. That's how you get to know them.
