{UAH} FDC OPPORTUNISM AND GREED
Moses Nekyon,
I see in the social media the FDC MPs have decided to take seats in
parliament and there is friction within the party. Just confirms what
I have always thought about Ugandan politicians. Too opportunistic.
Being an MP is like a huge investment for many and they need to get
immediate returns. They would have made a far bigger impact if they
boycotted the bogus parlIAMENT altogether, so as to allow Kayibanda's
cronies to debate themselves. That single act, accompanying Besigye's
illegal detention, would have done more to de-legitimise Kayibanda's
illegal and corrupt regime. But most of them will not have it- they
are all scrambling to be Leader of Opposition and to be "elected" to
the so-called shadow cabinet, which will entitle them to freebies,
cars, servants, cooks and sex slaves (domestic servants).
We have a long way to go. I think people in Uganda would say a person
like me who offers not to take a single penny in salary or expenses,
or get a government house if serving as a politician in Uganda is
bonkers and completely off his rockers. It is this chronic inability
to make sacrifices and work for the greater good that has crippled our
country and made it almost impossible to lift it out of the cesspit
Kayibanda has trashed it in.
