The world's largest gathering of writers and intellectuals is now
taking place in Hay-on-Wye, Wales, UK.

Hay Festival
Hay Festival was founded around a kitchen table in 1987 and continues
to attract the most exciting writers, filmmakers, comedians,
politicians and musicians to inspire, delight and entertain. It's
huge. Children's Festival Hay Fever runs alongside the Hay Festival
every year.

DescriptionFor ten days a year 85,000 people come from all over the
UK, Europe, America and the rest of the world to join a carnival
celebration of ideas and stories at the Hay Festival.
The programme of some five hundred events takes place in the tented
festival village during the spring bank half term holiday. Writers,
politicians, poets, scientists, comedians, philosophers and musicians
come together on the greenfield site to talk, eat, think, drink and be
merry.
The full programme is available in April, and tickets can be booked
online through the festival website, by post or fax, or in person at
the Box Office, 25 Lion Street, Hay-on-Wye, tel: 01497 822629.
The festival also runs a Bedfinder service (open from February each
year), to help visitors to the festival find good local accommodation
for their stay.
