Matembe: Museveni, Kadaga using demons to lead

ByFormer Ethics and Integrity minister Hon. Miria Matembe has questioned Speaker Rebecca Kadaga's competence to lead the country's parliament if she relies on demons.

Matembe says when she heard Kadaga had visited a shrine in Busoga, her stomach was shaking.

"I was shocked given Speaker Rebecca Kadaga's decision to visit a shrine and worship the dead despite her education level," Matembe said while appearing on NBS TV Wednesday.

"Kadaga is a parishioner at All Saints Cathedral. Visiting a shrine is a total mockery of our faith."

Matembe said when President Museveni was launching his campaign, he also first met witch-doctors before meeting bishops in Kololo.

"How can our leaders raise the Bible and the next minute, they run to the shrines? Mockery. God is angry."

Matembe said the country's motto has a god with a capital G.

"It says 'For God and My Country' not 'For gods and My Country'".

According to Matembe, demons have taken over Rebecca Kadaga and are now in Parliament.

"It was wrong for her to visit the Shrine in her capacity as Speaker. Given her decision to go to the shrine, what if Hon Kadaga was asked to sacrifice someone to get authority, would she?"

Matembe quoted 2 Chronicles 7:14, saying Ugandans ought to repent and pray and turn away from wicked ways.

She said Speaker Kadaga lost the legitimacy of leading Parliament when she visited a shrine.

"If our leaders, even with education, are still believing in the dead, what sort of laws are they passing?"

She added: "It was wrong for Rebecca Kadaga to visit the shrine with government vehicles paid for by taxpayers' money to pay homage to her demons."

State Minister for Information Technology Nyombi Thembo says Speaker Kadaga is not a bishop.

"She is a human being. She is a mature person. Many Ugandans visit shrines. Why all the fuss?"
