Does this man look indecent to you?
Apparently, President Kiir believes so, and he immediately ordered this minister out of Cabinet meeting!
I've come across government ministers and legislators in a few countries who attended government business in tuxedos. Among them are famous Kenyan politicians, Martin Shikuku, George Anyona and Kimani Wanyoike and US Senators, Paul Simon of Illinois, and Paul Tsongas of Massachusetts.
The concept of dress codes for politicians is a dicey one, especially in a semi-arid country like South Sudan. Instead, I would recommend a flowing, multi-colored Kitenge as most ideal for the unforgiving sun.
Actually, the Swahili Band, Simba Wanyika (Lions of Savannah) had a few songs lauding Kitenge outfits.
