With Mr. Museveni and Mr. Besigye each scrambling to crown themselves president of the same country at the same time, we might as well focus on the new tax bill that is up for review.
Parliament should use this opportunity to instead reduce taxes on targeted essential items such as kerosene, fuel, electricity, piped water, scholastic materials, and medecine so that these basic products, and the services connected to them (like transportation, lighting, healthcare & education) are more accessible to more people.
