Deputy speaker Jacob Oulanyah's opponent in the recently concluded Omoro County MP race has gone missing.
Mr Simon Toolit Akecha of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in the February 18 parliamentary elections was allegedly abducted from his home in African quarters in Pece division, Gulu municipality.
It's alleged that four armed men abducted Mr toolit at about 3am on Wednesday from his house.
The District Police Commander Martin Okoyo said security officers have been deployed at Mr Toolit's home as they carry out investigations into his alleged disappearance.
Mr toolit contested in the February parliamentary election in Omoro county but lost to Mr Oulanyah who stood on the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
He is currently battling a poll petition case at Gulu High court where he accuses Mr Oulanyah and the Electoral Commission of depriving him victory in the elections.
EC declared Oulanya winner of the highly contested elections with8,218 votes counted against Toolit's 6,823 votes.
Mr Toolit was today supposed to appear in Gulu high court presided over by Mbarara resident judge David Matovu.
