{UAH} Tanzania’s Magufuli opens rapid Bus Transport system
Tanzanians in Dar es Salaam to enjoy two days of free transport across the capital city after the long awaited Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (Dart) buses start operations today
Commuters will have to get cards and barcodes to pay once the electronic billing systems starts operating from Thursday however commuters will pay a maximum of 800 Tanzanian shillings a drop from the initial 1400 shillings. The Buses will operate 19 hours every day from 5 am.
The buses have their own lanes so they are expected to address the terrible traffic jams problems in the city.
Local government owns a 49 percent stake of the buses and the other 51 percent is owned by Simon group, a private entity reports The Citizen
