{UAH} CBS MARKS 20 YEARS
CONGS CBS FOR 20 YEARS
Fellow countrymen and countrywomen, let's congratulate CBS upon ageing
20 years, on a continent of high mortality rate, infant mortality rate
are high and life expectancy is low.
Fellow countrymen and countrywomen, let's congratulate CBS upon ageing
20 years, on a continent of high mortality rate, infant mortality rate

CBS not only joined others including Radio Sanyu, Capital Radio, Radio
One, Radio Simba and other after the liberalization of broadcasting in
1991, but also made a significant impact on the Luganda audience not
only in Buganda and Uganda , but also in the Diaspora.
At a personal level, CBS gave me a platform to appear on Kiriza oba
Gaana talk show every Wednesday from 2001 to 2009, side by side with
brothers, Tamale Mirundi and Semuju Ibrahim Ng'anda and sister Betty
Nambooze, and occasionally with Prince Herbert Lumansi, Mr. John
Kakande, Miss. Sarah Eperu, Hon. Betty Kamya, Joseph Luzige,
Ambassador Kintu Nyago and some others.
We also pioneered on Mambo Bado before bimemeza were closed down then.
Thanks to brother Med Nsereko Ssebuliba who was our host, assisted by
the late Mufumba and brother Matia Lwanga Bwanika.
The most important contribution is providing employment to many
journalists produced by journalism schools, at a time where
unemployment is on increase.
There was however an uncalled for Cold War between CBS and Bukedde,
yet Bukedde fought so much for CBS to open when the then Information
Minister Paul Etiang, was putting here and there some conditions.
Fortunately Vision Group has gone broadcasting and CBS tried print
media too, with Njuba Times and some other publications.
These media empires and many others can co exist without going native.
CABASA wangaala emyaka emirala egisobera ddala mu 20, Ssaabasajja
Kabaka agundegunde.
