Nakiwala Kiyingi has been kicked out of DP
Democratic Party (DP) has expelled the newly appointed state Minister for Youth designate, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi from the party after she accepted president Yoweri Museveni's appointment.
DP vice president elect for western region, Imamu Makumbi on Sunday expelled Hon. Nakiwala the party for accepting to take up the ministerial post from President Museveni which according to DP is political suicide.
Just recently, Nakiwala said she would not turn down Mr Museveni's assignment amidst DP calls for her not to accept the new appointment.
After her appointment in Museveni's new cabinet announced on June 6, a number of opposition members have castigated her with some labeling her as a traitor and advising her to reject the appointment.
However, Nakiwala a member of the DP said her haters would not succeed in bringing her down.
"I will not listen to anyone telling me to reject this appointment .As an individual I never pushed for it and I am sure that God who made this happen , will watch over me as I perform my duties'' she said.
According to her, Museveni saw a gem in her and that is why she was appointed in that particular position.
She said her appointment as a youth minister is a blessing to the young people in the country and that at the end of the day, they (youth) will be proud of her.
