{UAH} HAND OVER IN PRESIDENT'S OFFICE
Fellow countrymen and countrywomen, l have eye witnessed the hand over
ceremony of outgoing ministers for Presidency, Kampala, Without
Portfolio\ Political Mobilization, Economic Monitoring and State in
Vice President\s Office to incoming ministers which has taken place
today at President's Office Conference Hall.
Notable was Hon. Frank Tumwebaze, now Minister for ICT to express
happiness for the Lord Mayor Al Haji Ssaalongo Erias Lukwago, that he
hears, that he was now compliant, and was ready to move well with the
new Kampala ministers; Beti Namisango Kamya Turyomwe and Benny
Namugwanya, and Executive Director, Jennifer Musisi Ssemakula.
Tumwebaze also announced that Uganda Media Center which was under
President's Office, was now under ICT.
Beti Kamya promises more cooperation for better service delivery.
New Minister for Security Lt. Gen. Henry Tumukunde wants his ministry
to be fully fledged other than being under President's Office, he
underscored national security which, he said was different from
defense or police.
He wants efficiency and will not tolerate those coming to read
newspapers and take tea and recalled that he had done away with them
in ISO when he was Director General.
He vowed to wipe out Kifeesi again,
He emphasizing that security is people friendly which should not be scared.
He promised to popularize it with holding a seminar.
Then came Al Haji Abdul Nadduli, Minister without portfolio, who said
that his ministry cuts across all ministries and he would therefore
mobilize all politicians, a civil servants, and the general public
through print , electronic and social media, churches and mosques,
social gatherings including weddings and burials etc...
Henry Banyenzaki , leaving Economic Monitoring, does not want to hear
one consoling him for leaving government but want to hear only those
congratulating for returning to private sector.
Dr. Kasirivu Atwoki, new minister of state for Economic Monitoring,
believes that his ministry was the most important as it monitors the
economy.
Vincent Nyanzi cries for under funding but was hopeful that he would
be redeployed.
Alex Onzima who complained that he was marginalized in Local
Government, is now in Vice President's Office, without a vote!
