{UAH} How does the Quran tell Muslims to treat Non-Muslims?
How does the Quran tell Muslims to treat Non-Muslims?
Be kind and just to all non-Muslims who do not come to kill you or persecute you:
"God does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from dealing kindly and justly with them. Indeed, God loves those who act justly. God only forbids you from those who fight you because of religion and expel you from your homes and aid in your expulsion – (forbids) that you make allies of them. And whoever makes allies of them, then it is those who are the wrongdoers." (Quran 60:8-9)
OBLIGATORY Charity is also to be given to give to any non-Muslim in the following categories:
"Alms are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect (the funds) and for bringing hearts together, and for freeing captives (or slaves) and for those in debt and for the cause of God, and for the (stranded) traveler – an obligation (imposed) by God. And God is Knowing and Wise." (Quran 9:60).
Muslims should be just to Non-Muslims, regardless of the hatred they are shown:
"O ye who believe! stand out firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, and let not the hatred of others to you make you swerve to wrong and depart from justice. Be just: that is next to piety: and fear God. For God is well-acquainted with all that ye do". (Quran, 5:8).
Muslims should take the side of who is right - even if a non-Muslim has an issue with a Muslims.
"God doth command you to render back your Trusts to those to whom they are due; And when ye judge between man and man, that ye judge with justice: Verily how excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! For God is He Who heareth and seeth all things. (Quran, 4:58)"
""O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah , even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives". (Quran 4:135)
Forgive Non-Muslims for mistakes.
"Tell those who believe, to forgive those who do not look forward to the Days of God: It is for Him to recompense (for good or ill) each People according to what they have earned". (Quran, 45:14).
Muslims should be kind to Non-Muslim captives who came to kill them and were caught.
"They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. And they feed, for the love of God, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- (Saying),"We feed you for the sake of God alone: no reward do we desire from you, nor thanks. "We only fear a Day of distressful Wrath from the side of our Lord." (The Quran, 76:7-10).
Muslims should not react angrily to Non-Muslims who hate them.
"Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men;- for God loves those who do good". (The Quran, 3:134).
The value of an innocent Muslim life and an innocent non-Muslim life is equal:
"Whoever kills a person [unjustly]…it is as though he has killed all mankind. And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved all mankind." (Qur'an, 5:32).
Whenever you see a person quote a 'hateful' verse - ask them to quote you the FULL verse (NOT a snippet) as well as the verse before and after. You will see, that they are all in the context of the battlefield when the Muslims had no choice but to pick up a sword and shield to defend themselves. Muslims are told to not be cowards. It is is not a religion for cowards. We are kind, but we are told to defend ourselves. Otherwise we will all be killed.

Allaah gives the best to those who leave the choice to Him."And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things." (6:17)
