The Government of the Republic of Uganda has dispatched ten special envoys to other African countries to canvass support for the Eastern African candidate for Chairperson of the African Union Commission [AUC].
The final meeting ahead of the Envoys travel was held at the Foreign Affairs ministry in the capital Kampala on Monday.
The closed door meeting was attended by; former Attorney General Mr Fred Ruhindi, former minister of lands, housing and urban development, Mr Daudi Migereko, former State Minister for Finance, Mr Fred Omach, Opposition commissioner to parliament, Hon Cecilia Ogwal Atim, former minister of Gender Syda Bbumba, Ms Grace Kabayo from the Pan-African Women Organisation, Ms Sarah Kagingo, Ambassador Steven Nabeta who is the chairman of the campaign, Maj Gen Kahinda Otafiire, the Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Ambassador James Mugume, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other MOFA officials.''
