{UAH} Wonder if Christians will be scrutinised about their views on homosexuality

The largest mass shooting in the history of the United States took place overnight, and it is now known that gunman Omar Mateen is responsible for at least 50 deaths and some 53 others wounded at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. As the world sympathizes with the victims and mourns this tragic situation while trying to fully understand it, there is one group that isn't as upset about it. The Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has taken to social media to celebrate the shooting and say that "God sent the shooter."

Around 2 a.m., entered the Pulse nightclub in downtown Orlando and proceeded to hold many people hostage. Upon the time that SWAT and other law enforcement officials entered the building and killed him, the gunman had already opened fired and killed so many people.

According to the Gaily Grind, the Westboro Baptist Church has now spoken out about this tragedy, and the very well-known anti-LGBT group thinks this was a message from God. The WBC believes that the mass shooting is "only right for Sodom America!"

Plans have not yet been revealed by the Westboro Baptist Church to know if any members will head to Orlando soon. In most big events similar to this tragedy and big-time happenings, the WBC does head to funerals or the sites of those that have died so they can picket and make their messages known.

As reported by the Courier-Journal, a number of WBC members recently went to Louisville, Kentucky, to protest at and picked the funeral of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. In the past, they have picketed at the funerals of many celebrities, athletes, soldiers, and many others.

Now, the messages from the WBC on social media may end up leading to them heading to Central Florida.

[Photo by Gerardo Mora/Getty Images]CNN reported that the worst terror attack in U.S. history since 9/11 started around 2 a.m., and it was a lot worse than anyone originally anticipated. Early on Sunday morning, it was being reported that 20 were dead, with 42 more being treated for injuries in local area hospitals.

By mid-morning, the police had confirmed that there were at least 50 deaths and 53 others injured and being treated in Orlando hospitals.

NBC News is now reporting that gunman Omar Mateen called 911 just before the shooting started to pledge his allegiance to ISIS and their leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. ISIS has not yet taken credit for the attack, and many law enforcement agencies believe it to be more of an ISIS-inspired attack and not necessarily directed by the organization.

Mateen was said to have put together something that was very "organized and well-prepared." He entered the Pulse nightclub in Orlando with a handgun, assault-type weapon, and another type of device strapped to his body.

Before Mateen had been identified as the gunman, there was a story being passed around social media about a man named Sam Hyde being responsible for the mass shooting. He was said to be a member of the Westboro Baptist Church, but that entire story ended up being revealed as a hoax.

It is highly expected that the Westboro Baptist Church will end up finding their way to Orlando in the coming weeks to picket funerals and make their statements. Not a lot is known about gunman Omar Mateen as of this time, but it has been confirmed that at least 50 people have lost their lives and more than four dozen have been wounded. As hundreds of thousands mourn, the WBC believes that justice was served.
