{UAH} BREAKING: Museveni, Bashir to Send Troops to South Sudan

The African Union has approved sending peace keeping troops from the member states to the volatile South Sudan territory.

On his arrival in Kigali on Sunday, President Yoweri Museveni stated that the world newest nation, which Uganda significantly helped in its creation, needed an urgent deployment of regional force for peace to berealized.

Museveni strongly disagreed with the United Nation's proposed arms embargo and said the regional force should be put in place to protect the First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar since the latter
doesn't trust the SPLA under President Slava Kiir.

On Tuesday, the AU Peace and Security Commissioner Smail Chergui told the AFP news agency that the AU troop is ready for deployment.

ChimpReports understand the regional force is to come from neighboring nations including Uganda that solely deployed in South Sudan during the two years internal conflict between Kiir and Machar forces.

The two leaders later signed a peace agreement and the UPDF withdrew.

Another country to send troops is Sudan that South Sudan broke away from in 2011 after over five decades of struggle.

Sudan last contributed troops to Democratic Republic of Congo in 2008.

Other contributors are Ethiopia, Kenya and Rwanda who are all members of the regional body IGAD that are signatory to the peace treaty signed in Addis Ababa in August last year.

The development however, comes at a time when South Sudan leaders including Kiir have categorically declared that they don't need foreign troops.

In his letter to counterparts in IGAD recently, Kiir blamed Machar for the renewed devastating violence and added that latter wanted to create a situation for the deployment of foreign troops.

Another challenge for AU is going to be convincing the Juba administration to accept the entry of the regional force into the country.

It should be noted that the AU wanted to send troops to the unstable Burundi but President Pierre Knurunzinza vehemently disagreed with the move and the continental had to leave the plan suspense even when people were dying in big numbers.

Fighting resumed in South Sudan last week when the forces of Kiir and Machar clashed at the presidential palace resulting to the deaths of 300 people. The two principals were ironically present at the palace.
