For how long will we accept this brutality?
Here is a whole army of armed police, canning citizens in unprovoked manner. Apparently, any accidental encounter with police now lands a citizen some harm.
The pictures on the television last night were sickening: women being slashed as they crossed a dangerous bridge; two cops standing on a flatbed truck kept canning whoever was walking within a striking distance from their vehicle.
I would not wish a Dallas-like response on our police force. But both President Museveni and the IGP, Kale Kayihura, must acknowledge that this brutality is indefensible, and won't continue unchallenged.
When man's back is to the wall, man must fight to create some breathing space.
