PRESIDENT Edgar Lungu says if the opposition rejects his victory in next months elections, he will use the armed forces to sort them out as Commander-in-Chief.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Mpika on Tuesday, President Lungu said he would not care whether it will be election time or not, because he had become tough tested since taking over power.
He said he wouldnt care about the foreign election observers who were in the country to monitor the electoral process.
Now let me take this opportunity and warn troublemakers, especially after elections, nga baleta fye intulubundi na ubukangalume, I am there to sort [them] out. I am there to maintain law and order, to protect lives and property, thats my job as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces and I will not hesitate to use the law to make sure that everyone complies, President Lungu said.
They are willing to go to the extent of maiming people and killing people just to go to State House. But let me assure you that Zambia is under the Holy Spirit. God by His grace has chosen Zambia as a peaceful country and we must not allow it to be destroyedI will not allow myself to succumb to intimidation. So nga chashupa, naka nyelele kalasuma. Nangu balete abo ama election observers, I will act. If it comes to protecting the peace and the people of this country, and it needs me to act, I will act, whether it is campaign time or no campaign time. I will act.
He said the opposition were looking for reasons on which to dispute the election results.
Balefwaya ukwakulilila. Balefwaya excuse ukutila ati iyo (they are trying to find reasons to complain. They want an excuse to say) the election was not free and fair. They are provoking the Zambian people so that when I act they say no, twalilusa (we lost) because of this and this. After all bambi balibelela nokulusa (some people are used to losing by now), President Lungu said.
Nomba balelanda ati tatwakasumine nga twa pona. Time yabo iyaku wina nga bali nokuwina ni 2015. Lilyaline, na problem ilya twalinayo, nomba ino inshita, ndi mu State House, ndi President (laughs). Nalikatika nomba ndi President. Nokupya nimpya sana. So elo ninkaba sana nga baikatako fye mulilo, kupya (they are saying they wont accept the results. Their time for winning was supposed to be 2015 when we had problems. But now, I am in State House, I am the President. I am well connected now; I have become tough tested so if you play with me, you burn), said President Lungu.
