{UAH} Kabaka Mutebi Dragged to Court
Frank Mujabi/John Kwitonda,
What do you make of this? How is Mengo dealing with the leases granted
during the Land Reform Decree era, and subsequently when Buganda land
was returned to Mengo? It seems people like Mr katongole run into
thousands but there is no clear guidnace from mengo, or indeed from
the government as to how this conflict of ownership will be resolved.

Katongole has dragged the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to
High court Land division for allegedly refusing to renew a lease
interest on Land situated at Katwe with in Kampala district.
Kabaka's accuser claims that he is the lawful owner of land comprised
in block 7 and plot 1082 having inherited it from his late father
Aineya Katongole.
Katongole also seeks orders blocking the Kabaka from further holding
onto the said land as the Nte clan land saying he (Katongole) owns it
having obtained a lease from Buganda Land Board in 2011.
Through his legal advisors of Tumusiime, Kabega and company advocates,
Katongole wants to issue a temporary order restraining the Kabaka and
his agents from leasing the said land to any other person since he has
complied with all the development and building plans on top of paying
the necessary dues to Buganda Land Board.
The Kabaka has been summoned by the High court and he is required to
file his defence in court within 15 days.
