{UAH} TODAY IN HISTORY: 11th July...

Today in History:

Two significant events took place in Uganda's recent history.

First, on this day in 1989, the dreadful Mukura Massacre took place in Eastern Uganda. The 106th Battalion of the NRA rounded-up 300 men suspected of being rebel collaborators against the NRA regime and incarcerated them in a train wagon, suffocating them to death and then burying them in a mass grave.

Another shocking event would take place exactly 21 years later.
Three bombs were planted in Kampala as football fans watched the South Africa football world cup final game between Netherlands and Spain.

Two of the bombs would detonate killing 74 people.

May their souls rest in peace.
