George Oello and Mr. Ssekaggya, President Museveni first raised
Palestine Question in
July or August 1986, at a party organised by Kampala business
community thanking him for liberating the country. He compared
Palestinians to a weak man beaten up by a strong man at a beer party.
The weak man resorts to witch craft because he could not confront the
strong man physically. That was after Regan had bombarded Qadaffi's
home to kill him and killed her adopted daughter. "The root cause of
the problem is the Palestine question.." he said which was broadcast
live by Radio Uganda.
The President also addressed an OIC summit in Kuwait in the same or
following month and supported the Palestine cause.
In 1993, Museveni came with Yasser Arafat from an international
conference in Southern Africa and they held a joint press conference.
Arafat said USA was fighting for human rights elsewhere but not
Palestine
The third time, was during the Afro-Arab Youth festival held at Speke
Resort Munyonyo. The President called for twin sister nation states of
Palestine and Israel. The attendants mostly from the Sudan, Libya,
Syria and even Palestine itself, booed him saying that they wanted
Israel to be wiped out. He replied by promising that they would talk
it upon the arrival of Col. Muammar El Qadaffi.
