Uganda: Waragi and Marijuana Recovered From Accident Vehicle
Mpigi — Another accident has occurred at Nabyewanga village on the Kampala-Masaka highway leaving two people dead and one child seriously injured.
According to Mr Phillip Mukasa, the Katonga Region Police Spokesperson, the accident occurred at around 4:00am on Tuesday morning after a speeding commuter Taxi registration number UAW 122T that was heading to Masaka knocked a Toyota Mark II registration number UAN 313C.
Mr Mukasa told the Daily Monitor on telephone that the accident was caused by the driver of the Toyota Mark II who was trying to make a U-turn in the middle of the road.
The deceased (driver of Toyota Mark II) was identified as Kangavve, a resident of Muge in Nkozi Sub County.
Police recovered marijuana and several sachets of Bond7 whisky in Kangave's car.

The passenger in the commuter taxi who died on spot could not be readily identified. Bodies have been taken to Nkozi Hospital Mortuary.
An eleven 11-year-old child who was injured is receiving treatment at the hospital.
This is the sixth accident on the road in a space of one week in which 30 people have died and atlkeast 40 critically injured.
Reckless driving, according to police, is the major cause of these accidents.
