Jabby,

Take care to listen to this interview by Mr Shahbaz Taseer, son of the
murdered Punjabi Governor Salman Tasfeer who was murdered by his body
guard for his opposition to Pakistan's infamous blasphemy laws and how
it is used to oppress the christian and other religious minorities.
Salman Tasfeer had particulaly opposed the death sentence imposed on a
poor christian mother of 5, Asia Bibi, who was falsely accused of
insulting the Koran and has been on death row in a Pakistan jail for
more than 7 years despite being granted political asylum by 16
countries in the world, including the Vatican, the USA, Italy,
Belgium, UK, USA, Egypt and Zimbabwe.. I have written here on this
forum several times highlighting the plight of Asai Bibi in the hope
that the Pakistan Koranic/Sharia authorities will set the woman free.

In his interview, Mr Shabaz talks about his captivity by
fundamentalist Islamists, the moureder of his further and adumbrates
the need for people all over the world to remove the veil of silence
from their eyes being forced on them by fundamentalist Islam. He puts
forward a progressive version of Islam, and counter-poses it to the
barbaric and blood-saoked image of Islam that we see splashed across
out TVs these days. It is worth listening to him. If Islam can be
saved, it is people like Sahbahaz Tasfeer who can save it.
