{UAH} AND I AM JUST ASKING THIS MORNING

Friends

As degree holders continue to discuss issues of importance to our country, I need to raise a simple question to Ugandans as a population, and I start by apologizing to the Edward Pojim’s, the Ocen Nekyon’s, The Peter Simon’s, the George Okello’s and what have you that have been holding a very intellectual discussion, just before I interrupt its continuation.

In the so many years I have lived in this country, many Ugandans have died. Men women children grandparents and all ages with all classifications. And in those deaths, Ugandans have  proven a very simple point, when there is a death in a Uganda family, it is a death in our entire families. We post in forums, we post on face book, we post on mouth to mouth, and many times we even call for funds to ship the dead to home,  but we make sure that he passing of the individual is made public. We create wakes that are so powerful for we are among those that allow everyone to show up. In a wake of a Ugandan family you will find business people, you will find politicians, you will find Nigerians , you will find every one. For we are that open to passing. We cook the best food and  make sure that every one that shows up leaves fade, and oh yes we booze it too at the end of the day.

Which crates my very basic question, why don’t we as Ugandans buy flowers at a death? Why do Ugandans get buried without a single firkin Rose? Are we just allergic to flowers? Are we just not that informed about the process? Or we are just that cheap? And this has no jurisdiction for it does not matter if it is a Northerner that has died, it does not matter you are a Mukiga, a Muganda let alone omwana wabowo, there is simply no flowers on a Ugandan funeral. And no they are not that expensive for at a twenty dollars cut surely you can get a single rose and send it to a funeral home with a very tinny sympathy card.

Can someone out there kindly opine out why !!!!!!
