August 17, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— South Sudan's displaced First Vice President, Dr. Riek Machar Teny Dhurgon, has finally came out of the bush around Juba to bolster diplomatic front of the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition.

For the last one month, Dr. Machar has reportedly refused evacuation believing that the army of the SPLM/SPLA in Opposition may lose central command on the ground if he leaves before reorganizing the troops, mostly in Equatorian region.

According to his spokesman, James Gatdet Dak, the Chairman and Commander-in-Chief has now been relocated to a neighboring country, exactly one year after he signed the Peace Agreement in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

"The Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the SPLM/SPLA (IO), Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, has been successfully relocated to a neighboring country today, August 17, 2016, after one month of stay in the bushes around Juba." Said James Gatdet Dak, the Press Secretary of Dr. Machar.

"This also happens exactly one year after he signed the Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (ARCISS)." Gatdet continued.

The move to relocate South Sudan's First Vice President, now replaced by his former ally Taban Deng, came after many allegations among his rivals that his silence could mean that he is dead, a speculation that has caused rift among the politicians in his camp.

"He is currently safe! He has assured of the leadership's commitment to change the status quo in the country." Gatdet said.

On his part, Taban is campaigning that the First Vice President should leave him his position so that he can implement the peace agreement with Salva Kiir until an election is convened.

Machar was the first Vice President of the country from 2011 to 2013. He returned to Juba in late April this year as the "First Vice President", a position that was created by the peace agreement in August last year; however, he fled the capital once again after his immediate bodyguards were wiped out at an incident that threatened his life at South Sudan's Palace.

Despite that he was controversially replaced by his internal opponents, Machar is still considered the legitimate First Vice President of the country.

For South Sudan's peace to hold, IGAD-Plus, African Union and the United Nations Security Council have called on Salva Kiir to remove Taban Deng Gai and Machar to resume to his position.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Juba last month, South Sudan's economy has deteriorated to the lowest it has ever been since Independent. Many supply routes leading to the capital are now closed down by the SPLA in opposition and many investors have fled the country.

The opposition threatens to storm the capital unless a regional force is deployed to guarantee security for the civilians and aid workers, and also to protect national installations in the country.
