{UAH} General Kayihura off the Hook, Besigye supporters withdraw torture case

The FDC youth who had sued General Kale Kayihura and his officers for torture have decided to withdraw the case against him.

The complainants  Joseph Kaddu, Andrew Ssebitosi and Rogers Ddiba have written to the Makindye Chief Magistrate Richard Mafabi withdrawing the case after expressing lack of interest in continuing with it.

"As complainants in the above-mentioned case, we wish to state that we have unconditionally withdrawn our complaint against Kale Kayihura .We are doing this unconditionally without being forced but as a result of our convicts that the case has no merit,"e request that you do not proceed with the case and it is in the interest of justice that

The group at first claimed they had been bribed by lawyers in the opposition, to frame General Kayihura.

Their decision to withdraw the case comes a week after the Directorate of public prosecution Uganda was given permision to take over the case and prosecute the police boss and his officers.
