{UAH} LUGANDA WORDS FOR DIASPORA

♚'Esika' is a Luganda noun, which translates to "Anchor" in the English Language (Crabtree,1902,pp. 201).

♚"Akabonero" is a Luganda noun which translates to "Sign" or "Symbol"(Crabtree,1902,pp. 180)..

♚The Luganda noun "Eggwanga" translates to "a nation" in English (Crabtree,1902, 84). "Obuwangwa" translates to "culture" in English. E.g obubonero bw'obuwangwa = cultural symbols.

♚The Luganda word "Olulimi" translates to a person's own Language or "mother tongue" (Crabtree,1902, 235)." E.g "Oluganda lwe lulimi lw'Eggwanga ly'Abaganda" = Luganda is the language of the Baganda nation.

♚"Omulangira" is a Luganda noun which translates to "a prince" in English (Crabtree,1902, pp.193).

♚"Prince" is an English noun which translates to "Omulangira" in Luganda(Crabtree,1902, pp.229).
Princess = Omumbejja (Crabtree,1902, pp.229)

♚The Luganda word "Ekika" translates to "a clan" in English "(Crabtree,1902, 84).

♚'Terega' is a Luganda verb which translates to "speak like a prince"(Crabtree,1902, pp.206).

♚Obubonero is the plural for "symbols"(Crabtree,1902,pp. 255). "Sign" is an English translates to "Akabonero" in Luganda (Crabtree,1902,pp. 10) Forexample, "akabonero kano" = this sign (Crabtree,1902,pp. 10).

♚ 'Obuzaaliranwa' is a Luganda noun, which translates to "nature got at birth" or heredity (Crabtree,1902, pp.214).

♚ Amasika is the plural for Anchors(Crabtree,1902,pp. 201).. Ennanga is the old Luganda synonymy for Essika (Anchor).

♚"Omuguwa" an ancient Luganda noun, which translates to "Rope" an the English noun (Crabtree,1902,pp.230).

♚"Omwalo" is an Luganda word which translates to "Harbour" or "Landing Site" in the English language (Crabtree,1902,pp.223).

♚"Gabunga" is Luganda noun which translates to "Admiral" in English (Crabtree,1902,pp.18).

♚"Cord" is an English noun, which translates to "Rope" in Luganda (Crabtree,1902,pp.219).

♚ "Enkobyokobyo" is a Luganda noun which means "small lake bird (Crabtree,1902,pp.189).

♚ "Enyanja" is a Luganda word which translates to "lake" in English(Crabtree, 1902, pp.227).

♚'Amazzi' is Luganda noun, which translates to "water" in English, and "a stretch of water" translates to "enyanja" in Luganda(Crabtree, 1902, pp.227).

♚Empungu = Eagle (Crabtree,1902,pp.21). Boja, v. peck of birds(Crabtree,1902,pp.180).

♚"Efulungu" is an ancient Luganda name of native bird blackbird with red tail(Crabtree,1902,pp.18).

♚"Enyonyi" is a Luganda noun that translates to "Bird" in English (Crabtree,1902,pp.21). "Enyange" is a Luganda name for native bird species called "Egret" in English.

♚"Kunguvu" is an old Luganda name for whydah bird(Crabtree,1902,pp.19).
