President receives Kyankwanzi Resolution and NRM Primaries Report
President Yoweri Museveni has received two reports; one on the
Kyankwanzi Resolutions that give him sole candidature of the NRM Party
President in the 2016 general elections and two, that on the NRM
Primaries following country-wide consultations done by NRM Member of
Parliaments recently.
The report on the NRM Primaries was as a result of investigations
undertaken to find out the problems faced during the NRM Primaries of
2011 elections in which many NRM Party members expressed
dissatisfaction and disappointments over the way in which the
elections were conducted.
The report on the Kyankwanzi resolutions was as a result of efforts
launched to consult NRM supporters to back up the Kyankwanzi
resolutions that suggested President Museveni as the sole Candidate
for 2016 General Elections.
The report on the Kyankwanzi resolutions was handed over to the
President yesterday at State House, Entebbe, by the Government Chief
Whip Ms. Justine Kasule Lumumba who is also the Chairperson of the
Committee while that on the NRM Primaries was handed to him by the
Chairperson of the Committee, Ms. Seninde Rose Mary.
President Museveni congratulated and thanked the Committees that
compiled the reports and the Members of Parliaments for the good work
done in consulting Ugandans in their constituencies and also for
inspecting the status of service delivery in the respective
Sub-Counties in the country.
"This is really a good work, good mid-term work of checking what is
happening on ground", he said.
The President, however, said the issue of the 2016 NRM Candidate will
be determined by the NRM National Executive Committee (NEC). Mr.
Museveni observed that the report was rich because it contains what
has angered Ugandans adding it was good for Members of Parliament to
assess what they have done at the grassroots.
The President also noted that the report has opened chances for the
NRM Secretariat to organize regular meetings in order to get more
information to ensure better work.

NOW
NRM party primaries in 2015 were worse than those of 2010 due to Amama
Mbabazi factor, double standards, corruption, bribery and an
incompetent Electra l Commission.
Come 2020, we should be more prepared and we should have a party
electoral commission that can back and bite for not only for window
dressing, but for real.
Secondly,
I think planners and framers for Kyankwanzi resolutions were more
strategic than the incumbent Nakifuma MP Kafeero. Constitutions
amendments should not be handled in a first year when people are still
going to their gardens.
We always start those hot matters in the middle of the term and they
are solved in the 5th term by either Parliament, district councils, or
the people through a referendum.
