Former President Mwai Kibaki is admitted at the Karen Hospital after complaining of ill health.

The Star newspaper quotes a source as saying Kibaki was admitted early Sunday morning.

"All I know is the former head of state is under doctors' watch," the paper quotes the source.

President Uhuru Kenyatta is among those who have visited him in the hospital.

Kibaki fell ill at his Muthaiga home and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Kibaki is 84 years old and served Kenya from 2002 to 2013 when his two terms came to an end.
