Two prostitutes stole Dhs200,000 from a man's bag while he was having sex with one of their friends, a court heard.

Dubai Court of First Instance was told the Nigerian was walking through the Naif area on February 28 with Dhs1 million in his case when he was propositioned by a Ugandan woman.

The man went back to her flat, where two other Ugandan women were waiting. He said he put the bag next to the bed while he was having sex and that the other women took some of the cash.

It was not stated whether the money was his.

The man later went to Naif Police Station.

"It was after midnight when he came in saying some women stole his money," a police officer said. "He claimed that he was carrying a bag containing Dhs998,339 and put it beside the bed and started having sex with one of the suspects.

"He claimed that the other two women stole Dhs200,000 while he was busy."

The man told police that the women fled when he realised what was happening.

Officers searched for the women and arrested them in Sharjah.

"They confessed that they are prostitutes and they have sex with strangers for Dhs50," the officer said.

"They confessed to the theft and we found a clip on a mobile phone belonging to one of them, they were celebrating how much they had stolen."

The three women, aged 27, 32 and 35, have pleaded guilty to prostitution.

The women face a separate case in the misdemeanour court over charges of theft and staying illegally in the UAE. One is also charged with having sex with the victim.
