zania Burundi, etc.
Uganda is perhaps the only country in eastern Africa where electricity supply is on and off virtually everyday. It is impossible to spend three days without power shedding lasting 12 hours in Kampala. And upcountry power shedding lasts days sometimes weeks.
These days UMEME sends us warnigs that power shedding will be on such and a day. On other days the shedding comes almost daily without warnng.
Yet Uganda produces power at the Jinja Hydropower Power Plant at the Owen Falls Dam and at Bujagali Hydropower Plant.
We are told Uganda exports power to neigbouring countries. But its unreasonable to expoprt power when citizens do not have power.
In any case if there were agreements ssigned years ago why don't we utillise the funds acquired fro power export to BUILD POWERFUL GENERATORS TO PRODUCE POWER FOR CITIZENS.
