MBARARA. Minister without Portfolio, Hajji Abdul Nadduli has said he should be allowed direct access to the President to brief him about what he called "serious issues and developments" in the country.
The visibly frustrated minister accused "some people" of keeping President Museveni in the dark of whatever is going on in the country for selfish interests.
He claimed the president appointed him to the office after he had been betrayed several times by people exercising "double standards".

"I am going to ask the President to allow me to reach him directly without sending letters through some people who will not deliver the message because of their selfish sentiments. President is tired of people lying to him,'' said Mr Nadduli.
He was addressing Front for National Salvation (FRONASA ) members in Rwanyamahembwe Sub County Kashari South at the home of former western region chairman Edward Bashaija.
Bashaija died on July 21 and Mr Nadduli laid a wreath on his grave.

Other Ministers have in the past complained about being blocked or even spending several months without accessing the President.
He accused those around the President of failure to deliver his Shs240 million; the President had sent him.
Mr Nadduli said such selfish interests are failing Operation Wealth Creation Programme since procurement is still under National Agriculture and Advisory Services (NAADS ).
