– CORD coalition has confirmed January 2017 as the month when a presidential candidate will be picked
– The three coalition leaders will be expected to provide delegates who will meet at a convention to pick the flag bearer
– This is a new plan away from the idea of having foreign experts pick a duo winning combination as had earlier been announced by the leaders
It has now been confirmed that January will be the month when the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) will pick its flag bearer for the 2017 General Election.

CORD/ODM leader Raila Odinga with his wife, Mama Ida.
According to the head of the CORD secretariat, Norman Magaya, each of the co-principals has been given until then to popularize their respective parties.
They will be expected to go out and popularize their agenda as well as rally supporters to register as voters and mobilise them to vote.

They will also be required to provide delegates for the joint convention that will be held in January 2017, and it is here that the presidential flag bearer will be selected.
This contradicts the earlier plans of having experts chose a winning duo combination among the three of them.
"A team of experts will help the party identify a workable formula that will pick a formidable candidate to vie against President Uhuru Kenyatta," said Moses Wetangula in a past interview.
